I am going to join friends half way accross the world for two weeks in May. I am so excited...
I went tutoring last night and was able to pour into the lives of two children. I read Bible stories with them to improve their English. I had the opportunity to explain the sacrifical system, and a bit about the Holy Spirit with the younger boy (grade 5). I don't think he retained it all but its a start.
Arabic lessons never worked out. I think I have decided to learn Farsi (Persian) instead as many of the friends and families that I know speak Persian. Chi-toreh?

so many things to process
I am a Pastor… I am a missionary… I am learning…
I've learned so much in the past weeks, I'm almost at brain over load. But God is so good! We had training. I went to an Arabic lesson.

Grouping
a.k.a. stereotyping
One of the things I have learned interacting with Muslims is that there are a wide range of adherents. I used to think that all Muslims were devout, and that a very small percentage were part of jihad. This view was very uneducated.
I now see that just as there are nominal Christians, there are nominal Muslims. There are those who don't wear the hijab. There are those who don't know what the Qur'an says. There are those who don't buy halaal meat. And there are those who eat pork and drink alcohol.
And then there are those who have clouded the news in recent weeks. The ones who feel that killing is the answer.
It doesn't matter who you are. Everybody needs Jesus.

The Anonymous Me
For a while now I have wanted to be open and share some thoughts but can't with my other profile. So here is the "anonymous me."
